A Visionary Exchange
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ The following is adapted from Signs on the Horizons by Shaykh Harun Michael Sugich. This was a visionary exchange between Prophet Muhammad ( s.a.w. ) and Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib asw-Swiddiq ( q.s. ). The Prophet ( s.a.w. ) said, “Know, my son, that God will Honour you with sweet and pleasant waters.” Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib ( q.s. ) asked, “Are these the waters of islam , iman and ihsan ?” He replied to Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib ( q.s. ), “They are.” Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib ( q.s. ) said, “O Messenger of Allah, shall I alone drink these waters, or myself and whoever follows me?” The Prophet ( s.a.w. ) replied, “You and all who follow you of my community shall drink them.”
