Wahhabis Say Photographs are Haram
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Many Wahhabi scholars, such as Muhammad Swalih al-Munajjid and Swalih ibn Fawzan al-Fawzan, are of the opinion that taking photographs is haram regardless. Swalih al-Fawzan even said that any Muslim who teaches otherwise will be severely punished on the Day of Judgement, so he is confident enough to damn any scholar who has a different opinion from his. And of course, when he said that, it was recorded, on video. The reason these Wahhabis say we cannot take pictures is because it is akin to “making images” and “imitating creation”. But somehow, videos, which are moving pictures, and even more lifelike, are not haram . But then, if they had any logic, they would not be Wahhabis; they would be Muslims.
