The Prophet’s (s.a.w.) Highest Level of Intelligence

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Shaykh ‘Utsman Nuri Tufbas wrote, in “The Prophet Muhammad Muswthafa the Elect ( s.a.w. )”, fathanah implies that prophets possess the highest level of intelligence, reason and insight among mankind.   They have been gifted with strength of memory, a piercing cognition and solid power for judgment and persuasion.   Fathanah is not a tedious exercise of reason and logic; it much rather represents a level of comprehension beyond genius, the expression of reason, prudence and insight that abides with the heart.   To impeccably complete their duties, prophets need to be in possession of peerless intelligence.   They would otherwise be unable to put forward to the people the case that they have been sent for and convince them of its truth.   Prophets solve even the most obscure and intricate problems with ease.   Wrapping even the most complex issues in the shroud of ease enables their words to be put across with clari...

Explaining Islam to a Ruler

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Before the hijrah to Madina, some Muslims made the first hijrah to Abyssinia, and were granted asylum.  When the Quraysh sent envoys to have them expelled, they pled their case before the Negus, Sayyidina Aswhamah ibn Abjar an-Najashi ( r.a. ).   Sayyidina Ja’far ibn ‘Abu Thalib ath-Thayyar ( k.w. ) addressed the Negus ( r.a. ), “We were a people in a state of ignorance and immorality, worshipping idols, and eating the flesh of dead animals, committing all sorts of abomination, and shameful deeds, breaking the ties of kinship, treating guests badly, and the strong among us exploited the weak.  We remained in this state until Allah ( s.w.t. ) Sent us a prophet, one of our own people, whose lineage, truthfulness, trustworthiness, and integrity were well-known to us.”
