We Can Disagree
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Yunus ibn ‘Abd al-A’ala ( r.a. ) said, of Imam Abu ʿAbdullah Muhammad ibn Idris ash-Shafi’i ( r.a. ), “I never saw anyone more intelligent than ash-Shafi’i. We once debated an issue and departed. When we came across each other again he took me by the hand and said, ‘Abu Musa, is it not right that we remain brothers even if we disagree on an issue?’”
