A Muslim Convert Once Before

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Shihab az-Zuhri ( r.a. ) reported, from Sayyidina Abu Hurayrah ‘Abd ar-Rahman ibn Sakhr ad-Dawsi az-Zahrani al-Azdi ( r.a. ) and Sayyidina Abu Sa’id Sa’id ibn Malik al-Khazraji al-Khudri ( r.a. ), that they narrated that the Messenger of Allah ( s.a.w. ) said, “Allah ( s.w.t. ) Says, ‘Pride is My Cloak, and Glory is My Lower Garment, so whoever contends with Me regarding either one of them, I will Torment him.’”   Imam Abu Sulayman Hamd ibn Muhammad al-Khaththabi ( r.a. ) said, “This means that pride and greatness are two Attributes of Allah ( s.w.t. ) that He Alone is Particularised with, no one shares them with Him, no Created being should have them because the Attribute of the created is humility and lowness.  Allah ( s.w.t. ) has Set the cloak and the lower garment as an example; no one shares his cloak, or his lower garment with another person.  Likewise, Allah ( s.w.t. ) does not share His Pride ...

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Shihab az-Zuhri ( r.a. ) said, “Knowledge is a treasure chest, and its keys are questioning.”

Imam Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-‘Abidin was a person of immense patience.  It is written, in Khazinat al-Aswfiyah , that after the Battle of Karbala, he was marched to Damascus in chains.  Later, in the time of ‘Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan, he was arrested and chained again, then forced to walk from Madina to Syria on foot, shackled, for hundreds of miles.  Through all of it, he never complained.  He never said one word against his condition in the Court of Allah.  He made shukr instead, thanking Allah on every step.  Karbala alone should have broken any ordinary man’s relationship with gratitude permanently.  He watched his father, Imam al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali, and the flower of the Ahl al-Bayt , cut down on the plain of Karbala in 61 AH (680 CE).  He survived only because illness kept him from the fighting.  He was then chained and paraded as a captive through Kufa and Damascus, a grieving son forced to walk in shackles past crowds who ...

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Shihab ad-Din Abu al-‘Abbas Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Qasthalani ( r.a. ) mentioned the following, from one of the greatest tabi’in , Imam Muhammad ibn Muslim ibn Shihab az-Zuhri ( r.a. ), who said that Shaykh al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr asw-Swiddiq ( r.a. ) said, “Of the proven blessing of the likeness of the Prophet’s ( s.a.w. ) sandal is that whoever has it in his possession for tabarruk , it will safeguard him from the sedition of rebels and the mastery of enemies, and will be a barrier against every recreant devil and the evil eye of the envious.  If the pregnant woman holds it in her right hand at the time of labour, her delivery will be easier by Allah’s Will and His Power.”
