Do Not Despair of Repentance

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ   Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah al-Hakim an-Nishaburi ( r.a. ) said, “Do not become so overwhelmed by your wrong action, that it stops you thinking well of Allah ( s.w.t. ).   Whoever has gnosis of his Lord, finds that his wrong action is insignificant beside His Generosity.”

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah al-Hakim ( r.a. ) recorded that Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas ( r.a. ) narrated that Allah ( s.w.t. ) Inspired Jesus Christ ( a.s. ) Saying, “O Jesus, believe in Muhammad, and whosoever from your ummah finds him, should believe in him.  If I had not Created Muhammad, then I would not have Created Adam.  If not for him, I would not have Created Paradise and Hell.  When I Made the Throne on water, it started to shake.  I Wrote ‘ Laa Ilaha Illa Allah Muhammadar Rasulullah .’  Due to which, it became still.”   Imam al-Hakim ( r.a. ) wrote, concerning the above narration, in his al-Mustadrak asw-Swahihayn , “This hadits has a swahih chain.”

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ   Imam Shihab ad-Din Abu al-Fadhl Ahmad ibn ‘Ali ibn Hajr al-‘Asqalani ( r.a. ) wrote, in Tahdzib at-Tahdzib , that Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah al-Hakim an-Nishaburi ( r.a. ) said that he heard Shaykh Abu ‘Ali Hasan ibn ‘Ali ad-Daqqaq ( r.a. ) say, “I was in extreme depression, then I saw Prophet ( s.a.w. ) in my dream.  He said, ‘Go to the grave of Yahya ibn Yahya, recite istighfar , and ask for help through his intercession.  Your problem will be solved.’  I did that, and my problem was solved in the morning.”  Here, Imam ibn Hajr al-‘Asqalani ( r.a. ) showed that visiting the tombs of the awliya’ and seeking their intercession is a meritorious and approved act.

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ The concept of wasilah and tawaswswul is a sound doctrine in our ‘aqidah .   The following hadits is a strong basis of it, and even the Wahhabi sect accepts that it is authentic, although they still deny wasilah , considering it shirk .   As recorded in al-Mustadrak asw-Swahihayn , by Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah al-Hakim an-Nishaburi ( r.a. ), Sayyidina Abu Hafsw ‘Umar ibn al-Khaththab al-Faruq ( r.a. ) reported that the Prophet ( s.a.w. ) said, “When Adam committed his mistake, he said, ‘O my Lord, I ask you to Forgive me for the sake of Muhammad ( s.a.w. ).’   Allah Said, ‘O Adam, and how do you know about Muhammad ( s.a.w. ) whom I have not yet Created?’   Adam replied, ‘O my Lord, after You Created me with Your Hand and Breathed into me of Your Spirit, I raised my head and saw written on the heights of the Throne, ‘ Laa Ilaha Illa Allah, Muhammadar Rasulullah .’   I understood that You would not...

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ In his Tarikh an-Nisabur , Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah al-Hakim an-Nishaburi ( r.a. ), author of the al-Mustadrak ‘ala asw-Swahihayn , recorded that when Imam ‘Ali ibn Musa ar-Ridha’ ( q.s. ), son of Imam Musa ibn Ja’far al-Kazhim ( q.s. ), entered Nisabur, he was riding inside a veiled enclosure upon a grey mule.  When he entered the city’s main marketplace, the two huffazh of ahadits , Imam Abu Zur’ah ‘Ubaydullah ibn ‘Abd al-Karim ar-Razi ( r.a. ) and Imam Muhammad ibn Aslam ath-Thusi ( r.a. ), along with an uncountable number of students, stopped him and said, “O noble master, we ask you by the right of your noble and pure ancestors, to please expose your blessed face for us and narrate to us a hadits that you relate through your forefathers.”   Imam ‘Ali ar-Ridha’ ( q.s. ) stopped his servant and ordered the veil to be removed, and everyone gazed upon his noble face.  He had two long braids which fell on his sho...
