The Prophet (s.a.w.) is the Gate to Allah (s.w.t.)

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir ( q.s. ) said, as recorded in Uswul al-Kafi’ , “Surely the Messenger of Allah ( s.a.w. ) is the gate of Allah ( s.w.t. ), without whom He cannot be approached.  He is the path that will lead to Allah ( s.w.t. ).”

Practising Knowledge

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir ( q.s. ) said, “When you acquire knowledge, then put it into effect.  Let your hearts be wide.  For the person with the heart that does not encompass his abundant knowledge gives Satan power over him.  If Satan disputed with you, then dispute with him through what you know.”

The Increase in Blessings

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir ( q.s. ) said, “The steady increase of Allah’s ( s.w.t. ) Blessings will not cease until the gratitude of the people ceases.”

“Better Than 70,000 Worshippers”

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir ( q.s. ) said, “The scholar who derives benefit from his knowledge is better than 70,000 worshippers.”

Avoid Envy

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir ( q.s. ) said, “Keep yourselves far from envy, because it eats up and takes away good actions, like the fire that eats up and burns wood.”

The Highest Stage of Certainty

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir ( q.s. ) said, “To recognise the world as insignificant is the highest stage of certainty in faith.”

Relying on God

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir ( q.s. ) said, “Whoever relies on God will never be defeated, and whoever takes Refuge in God will never fail.”

Heedlessness & Cruelty

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir ( q.s. ) said, “Be cautious of heedlessness, for the cruelty of the heart is in it.”

A Brief Biography of Imam Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir (q.s.)

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn ‘Ali al-Baqir’s ( q.s. ) full name and lineage is Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn ibn ‘Ali ibn Abu Thalib al-Qurayshi al-Hashimi.   He was born in the city of Madina in 57 AH.   His father, and teacher, was Imam Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-‘Abidin ( q.s. ), survivor of the tragedy of Karbala, son of the Sayyid ash-Shuhadah , Husayn ibn ‘Ali, ( r.a. ).   His mother was Sayyidah Fathimah bint al-Hasan ibn ‘Ali ( r.a. ).   From this marriage, was born the first generation of the Ahl al-Bayt who was both al-Hasani and al-Husayni .   Both the paternal and maternal sides were connected to ‘Ali ibn Abu Thalib ( r.a. ) and Fathimah az-Zahrah ( r.a. ). The King & the Pauper

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ   There was a king who decided to take a tour of his country.   As he passed by different places, everyone rushed to see him.   However, while passing by a certain place, he noticed a poor old man who did not pay any attention to the king’s arrival and remained engaged in his own activities.   The king went up to this poor man and asked why he did not join the people to see him.   The poor man replied, “Before you, there was another king who once passed by this place.   Everyone gathered to see him as well.   But, few days later he died and was buried in a place nearby.   A poor man also died during that time and was buried near the king’s grave.   After some time, a strong flood passed through that area causing those graves to overturn.   As a result, the bones of the poor man became mixed up with those of the king’s.   We could not differentiate between them any longer.   After seeing...
