The Purpose of Khilafah
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Shaykh Muhammad al-Mishry ibn ‘Abdullah al-‘Alawi at-Tijani ( q.s. ) said, “The objective and goal of the existence of the khalifah of Allah ( s.w.t. ), is gnosis of Allah ( s.w.t. ), because Allah ( s.w.t. ) does not die in order to leave behind a khalifah to succeed Him, and He is not incapacitated in order for him to need a khalifah to help Him and support Him. Therefore, what is the secret behind the existence of the khalifah ? The answer to that is that Allah ( s.w.t. ) was with no direction attributable to Him, and where eyes cannot perceive Him, so He brought to us a khalifah , who has a direction, and who can be perceived by the vision of the eyes. So, the existence of the khalifah is for our benefit and not due to any need of Allah ( s.w.t. ) for him, because Allah ( s.w.t. ) is Absolutely Independent from needing this world, before the world, along with the world and after the world.”
