Remembering the Most Beloved

Image
‎ بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn Isma’il al-Bukhari ( r.a. ), in Adab al-Mufrad , wrote that Imam Abu Nu’aym Ahmad ibn ‘Abdullah al-Aswbahani ( r.a. ) related to us that Shaykh Sufyan ( r.a. ) related from Shaykh Abu Ishaq Ka’b ibn Mati’ al-Himyari al-Ahbar ( r.a. ) from Shaykh Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn Sa’d ( r.a. ), who said Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar ( r.a. ) had numbness in his leg, whereupon a man said to him, “Remember the most beloved of people to you.”   So, he said “ Ya Muhammad ,” and it was cured.  Mulla Nur ad-Din Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali ibn Sulthan Muhammad al-Hirawi al-Qari ( r.a. ) wrote, in Sharh ash-Shifa’ that Sayyidina ibn ‘Umar ( r.a. ) expressed his love in the form of istighatsa’ , seeking help.

The Striped Robe of the Prophet (s.a.w.)

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ It is recorded in Swahih Muslim that Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ( r.a. ), the freed slave of Sayyidatina Asma’ bint Abu Bakr ( r.a. ), reported that Sayyidatina Asma’ ( r.a. ) sent him to Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar ( r.a. ) asking, “The news has reached me that you prohibit the use of three things: the striped robe, saddle cloth made of red silk, and the fasting in the holy month of Rajab.”   Sayyidina ibn ‘Umar (r.a.) replied, “So far as what you say about fasting in the month of Rajab, it is about one who observes continuous fasting.  And so far as what you say about the striped garment, I heard ‘Umar ibn al-Khaththab say that he had heard from Allah’s Messenger ( s.a.w. ), ‘He who wears silk garment has no share for him,’” meaning a share in the Hereafter, “and I am afraid it may not be that striped garment; and so far as the red saddle cloth is concerned, that is the saddle cloth of ‘Abdullah and it is red.”   Sayyidina ‘Abdulla...

Dabiq: Takfir upon Sunni Scholars

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ   On page 74 of the July 2016 issue of ISIS’ Dabiq magazine, the Shaykh of Al-Azhar, Shaykh Ahmad Muhammad ibn Ahmad ath-Thayyib, is declared an apostate.   Page 8, of the May 2016 issue accuses other Muslim scholars of kufr .   In Sunan Abu Dawud , Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar ( r.a. ) related that the Prophet ( s.a.w. ) said, “If a Muslim calls another kafir , then if he is a kafir , let it be so; otherwise, he is himself a kafir ,”' referring to the accuser.   Aside from their innovated and deviant theology, this itself gives us a good indication that ISIS are kafirun .

Killing Mosquitoes in Ihram

Image
Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn Isma’il al-Bukhari narrated in his swahih that some hujjaj from Karbala approached Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar and asked him for the ruling on killing a mosquito while in ihram .  His response carried the force of a slap: “Look at this man!  He asks me about killing a mosquito, and they have killed the son of Rasulullah!  Indeed, I had personally heard him say, ‘Hasan and Husayn are my sons, and fragrant flowers in this world.’” Sayyidina ibn ‘Umar does not dispute that the ruling on mosquitoes has merit.  He did not accuse the questioner of asking a wrong question in the abstract.  He accused him of asking it at the wrong moment, with the wrong sense of proportion, from men who had just come from the very location where the Prophet’s own grandson had been slaughtered.  This is not a rejection of fiqh .  It is a rejection of fiqh divorced from moral weight, deployed as a distraction from the atrocity sitting directl...

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam  Abu ‘Abdullah  Malik ibn Anas’ ( r.a. ) chain of narrators was considered one of the most authentic, and known as Silsilah adz-Dzahab or “The Golden Chain of Narrators” by notable hadits scholars including Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn Isma’il al-Bukhari ( r.a. ).  The silsilah consists of Imam Malik ( r.a. ), who narrated from Imam Nafi’ Abu Ruwaym ibn ʽAbd ar-Rahman al-Madani ( r.a. ), who narrated from Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar ( r.a. ), who narrated from Prophet Muhammad ( s.a.w. ).

Wahhabism Contends Muslims are Kafirun

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ   The Wahhabi scholar, Abu al-Fadhl Naswir ad-Din an-Nu’aymi wrote a book about their ‘aqidah , Hadzihi Aqidatuna , explicitly stating that the Wahhabis believe most of the Muslims are, in fact, mushrikin , polytheists.   Page 16 of their manual, explained major shirk as they believe , and what it entails, such as making the blood and property of the “ mushrikin ” violable.   This explains why Wahhabis are so quick to kill Muslims.   They do not view them as Muslims but consider them polytheists, and apostates.   After the above introductory explanation of major shirk , the Abu al-Fadhl an-Nu’aymi then briefly listed the different forms of major shirk, at the end of which he then wrote the following in page 20 that “most of those who claim to be Muslims are verily mushrikin .” The above may be ambiguous as to whether they hold this belief regarding the Muslims of the present era only or does it include the past era...
