Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Fakhr ad-Din Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Umar ar-Razi ( q.s. ) said, “The Sufi way of seeking knowledge is to disconnect themselves from this worldly life, and they keep themselves constantly busy with dzikrullah , in all their actions and behaviours.”

The Stones Bear Witness

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Shaykh Ibrahim ibn ‘Abdullah Niyas al-Kawlakhi ( q.s. ) wrote, in his Kashif al-Ilbas , that Imam Fakhr ad-Din Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Umar ar-Razi ( r.a. ) reported that a man was standing at Mount Arafat, holding seven stones in his hand.  He said, “O stones, bear witness that I testify that there is no god but Allah ( s.w.t. ), and that Muhammad ( s.a.w. ) is Allah’s Messenger!”  Then he fell asleep and dreamed that the Day of Resurrection had arrived.  The man was Called to Account, and then Condemned to the Hellfire; so when they escorted him to one of the doors of Hell, one of those seven stones came and threw itself into that door.  The angels of torment made a concerted effort to remove it, but were unable to do so.  He was escorted to the second door, and the same thing happened there.   It happened at each of the seven doors, so he was then escorted to the Heavenly Throne, and Allah ( s.w.t. ) Said to t...

Allah (s.w.t.) is Clear of Having a Place & Direction

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ   Imam Fakhr ad-Din Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Umar ar-Razi ( r.a. ), in his at-Tafsir al-Kabir , wrote, “Since it is affirmed by this verse that, ‘Not one of the beings in the Heavens and the Earth but must come to (Allah) Most Gracious as a servant,’ and since it is obligatory that Allah is clear of being a slave, He is therefore clear of being in a place or direction, or on the Throne or the Chair.”   This was in his commentary to this:   سُوۡرَةُ مَریَم إِن ڪُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ عَبۡدً۬ا ( ٩٣ )   Not one of the beings in the Heavens and the Earth but must come to (Allah) Most Gracious as a servant. (Surah Maryam:93)

Why We have Food & Drink at the Mawlid

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ Imam Fakhr ad-Din Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Umar ar-Razi ( r.a. ) said, “There is not a person who recites the Mawlid of the Prophet ( s.a.w. ) upon salt or wheat or any type of food only that Allah ( s.w.t. ) will Manifest the Blessing in everything that is connected to that food.  And will not suffer, nor will the food settle in the stomach except that Allah will Forgive the one eating it.  And if the Mawlid of the Prophet ( s.a.w. ) is recited upon water, then the one who drinks that water, a thousand lights and blessings will enter into their heart, and a thousand ailments and vices will be removed from them, and the heart of such a person will not die on a day when hearts will perish.”

Seeking True Knowledge

Image
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ   The following is adapted from a swuhbah from Shaykh Muhammad Nazhim Adil al-Haqqani ( q.s. ) on the 12 th December 2009.   We seek safety, happiness and honour in the hereafter, but fails to ask about how to achieve it.   Firstly, we have to understand that mosques are not just ordinary buildings; they are special demarcated areas of worship, where many beings worship Allah ( s.w.t. ) all the time.   Just to know something is not enough.   We need the keys to unlock the understanding and secrets in the knowledge that we learn.   We must be prepared to seek from those to whom Allah ( s.w.t. ) has Given such keys, and we must be humble enough to ask for help and guidance.   In today’s world, many so-called learned people, with PhDs and doctorates, feel that they themselves are sources of knowledge and that they are the ones who are able to teach others and unlock such secrets, whereas they have merely studi...
