He Never Called Himself “Imam”
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ The father of my shaykh , Shaykh ‘Umar ibn ‘Abdullah Bagharib ( q.s. ), was a wali , and the imam of the Khadijah Mosque for thirty-three years. He was a teacher of thousands, and his student were also teachers and scholars. He was the shaykh of the Qadri thariqa’ . The mosque was known, in his time. as Masjid Bagharib, after him. Yet, he never called himself “ imam ”. But now, we have people who append that title to their names, and call themselves by it.
