A Visionary Exchange

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The following is adapted from Signs on the Horizons by Shaykh Harun Michael Sugich.

This was a visionary exchange between Prophet Muhammad (s.a.w.) and Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib asw-Swiddiq (q.s.).

The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, “Know, my son, that God will Honour you with sweet and pleasant waters.”

Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib (q.s.) asked, “Are these the waters of islam, iman and ihsan?”

He replied to Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib (q.s.), “They are.”

Shaykh Muhammad ibn al-Habib (q.s.) said, “O Messenger of Allah, shall I alone drink these waters, or myself and whoever follows me?”

The Prophet (s.a.w.) replied, “You and all who follow you of my community shall drink them.”
