The Verse Only Sayyidina ‘Ali ibn Abu Thalib (k.w.) Practiced

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 

Allah (s.w.t.) Says: 

سُوۡرَةُ المجَادلة

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا نَـٰجَيۡتُمُ ٱلرَّسُولَ فَقَدِّمُواْ بَيۡنَ يَدَىۡ نَجۡوَٮٰكُمۡ صَدَقَةً۬‌ۚ ذَٲلِكَ خَيۡرٌ۬ لَّكُمۡ وَأَطۡهَرُ‌ۚ فَإِن لَّمۡ تَجِدُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٌ۬ رَّحِيمٌ (١٢) 

O ye who believe!  When ye consult the Messenger in private, spend something in charity before your private consultation.  That will be best for you, and most conducive to purity (of conduct).  But if ye find not (the wherewithal), Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful. (Surah al-Mujadilah:12) 

Sayyidina ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (r.a.) said, “The actual cause for the Revelation of this verse of the Qur’an was that the people, in their contact with the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.), asked him too many importune questions and thus wearied him.  That is why these words have been Revealed.”  Thus, it is possible to see who is a friend and who is a hypocrite. 

It is said that Sayyidina ‘Ali ibn Abu Thalib (k.w.) was the only one to practice what was said in this verse.  He always gave a dinar, and thereafter he spoke with the Messenger (s.a.w.).  Sayyidina ‘Ali (k.w.) said, “In the Book of Allah, there is a verse, and no one has acted on it before me, and no one will act on it after me.”

The Du’a of the Blind Man

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ It is narrated, from a hadits , that a blind man approached the Prophet ( s.a.w. ), and asked for a cure for his blindness.   This hadits is recorded in Jami’ at-Tirmidzi ; Sunan ibn Majah ; Musnad ibn Hanbal ; Mu’jam al-Kabir , by Imam Abu Ja‘far Muhammad ibn Jarir ath-Thabari ( r.a. ); and Mustadarak ‘ala Swahihayn , by Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah al-Hakim an-Nishaburi ( r.a. ).   The version from Sunan ath-Thabari has slightly different words, but has the same general meaning. This du’a is a du’a for hajat , when there is a need.   It is also a du’a asking for spiritual sight in this world, for those who are blind to Allah ( s.w.t. ) in this world may be blind to Him in the next.   How can we see His Majesty and be in the Divine Presence when we are blind to His Presence in this world.   One cannot look at the shadow and still see the light.   One cannot look at the world and expect to fin...

The Kufr of ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Baz

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Baz was the former Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia.  He was a man who waged war upon the ummah , a reviler of the awliya’ , and a takfiri of the scholars.  This was the man who demanded that the Rawdhah of the Prophet ( s.a.w. ) be levelled.  He opposed swalawat and any display of affection towards the one that Allah ( s.w.t. ) Called the best of Creation. This is the face of Shaythan .  He was a kafir and a munafiq .
