The House Crawling with Dogs

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Imam Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Ghazali (r.a.), commenting on the hadits that angels of rizq will not enter a house with dogs, said, “And the heart is also a home.  It is the home of the angels, where they descend, where they reside.  Despicable characteristics, such as anger, desires, belittlement, envy, arrogance, self-aggrandisation, and such like, are all barking dogs.  So, how can the angels enter such a house while it is crawling with dogs.”
