بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
Imam Ahmad ibn Ahmad az-Zarruq (q.s.) wrote, in ‘Uswul ath-Thariqa’, “The foundations of Sufi path are five: taqwa – mindfulness of Allah (s.w.t.), privately and publicly; adherence to the sunnah, in word and deed; indifference to whether others accept or reject one; contentment with Allah (s.w.t.) in times of both hardship, and ease; and turning to Allah (s.w.t.) in prosperity, and adversity.”
