We Did Not Choose Islam; Allah (s.w.t.) Accepted Us

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Sayyidina Hakim ibn Hizam (r.a.) was a relative of Sayyidatina Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (r.a.), the wife of the Prophet (s.a.w.).  In the time before he converted to Islam, he used to buy the daughters of those families who wanted to bury them alive, and raised them as his own.  One day, Sayyidina Hakim (r.a.) asked the Prophet (s.a.w.) about these good deeds, and whether he would be Rewarded for them.

The Prophet (s.a.w.) replied, “These good deeds are the reason you have been Blessed with Islam.”

To be a Muslim is an Honour that Allah (s.w.t.) has Dressed us with.  It is not us accepting Him, but Him Accepting us.  So, which Muslim has the right to look down on the non-Muslims?  What is Given can also be Taken.
