The Swahabah Who Could Not Pronounce the Words of the Adzan Properly

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Prophet’s (s.a.w.) mu’adzin was Sayyidina Bilal ibn Rabah al-Habashi (r.a.).  Sayyidina Bilal (r.a.) pronounced the “sh” as “s” and said, in the adzan, “ashadu”, instead of “ashhadu”.  The hypocrites mocked him for that.  Sayyidina Bilal (r.a.) informed the Prophet (s.a.w.) who was pained by that.  The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, “The ‘s’ of Bilal is ‘sh’ near Allah (s.w.t.).  The ‘s’ of Bilal is better than your ‘sh’.”
