The Fire in the Desert

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

It is related that Jesus (a.s.) once came upon a fire which was kindled over a man in the desert.  Jesus (a.s.) then took water to put it out, and the fire changed into a youth, and the man changed into fire.  So, Jesus (a.s.) wept and said, “O Lord, Restore them to their former state that I may see what their sin was.”  Then that fire was removed from them, and they were a man and a youth. 

The man said, “O Jesus, I have been afflicted in the world by love of this youth, and desire urged me on until I sinned with him one night, after which I sinned with him another day.  Then a man came upon us and said to us, ‘Woe to you!  Fear God!’ 

I replied to him, ‘I am not afraid, and I do not fear.’  Then, when I died, and the youth died, God Turned us into what you see.  Sometimes he becomes fire and burns me, and sometimes I become fire and burn him.  And this is our punishment until the Day of Resurrection.”

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ It is narrated, from a hadits , that a blind man approached the Prophet ( s.a.w. ), and asked for a cure from his blindness.   This hadits is recorded in Jami’ at-Tirmidzi ; Sunan ibn Majah ; Musnad ibn Hanbal ; Mu’jam al-Kabir , by Imam Abu Ja‘far Muhammad ibn Jarir ath-Thabari ( r.a. ); and Mustadarak ‘ala Swahihayn , by Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah al-Hakim an-Nishaburi ( r.a. ).   The version from Sunan ath-Thabari has slightly different words but has the same general meaning. بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ We consider this verse:   سُوۡرَةُ الطّلاَق ... وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُ ۥ مَخۡرَجً۬ا (٢) وَيَرۡزُقۡهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَحۡتَسِبُ‌ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسۡبُهُ ۥۤ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَـٰلِغُ أَمۡرِهِۦ‌ۚ قَدۡ جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ۬ قَدۡرً۬ا (٣)   … And for those who recognise Allah, He (Ever) Prepares a way out.   And He Provides for him from (sources) he never could imagine.   And if anyone puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is (Allah) for him.   For Allah Will surely Accomplish His Purpose: verily, for all things has Allah Appointed a due proportion. The Kufr of ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Baz

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn ‘Abdullah ibn Baz was the former Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia.  He was a man who waged war upon the ummah , a reviler of the awliya’ , and a takfiri of the scholars.  This was the man who demanded that the Rawdhah of the Prophet ( s.a.w. ) be levelled.  He opposed swalawat and any display of affection towards the one that Allah ( s.w.t. ) Called the best of Creation.
