Quora Answer: Can a Muslim Convert Still Love Porcine Products?

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The following is my answer to a Quora question: “Is it okay, in Islam, if somebody converts still loving porcine products?

The Qur’an Proscribes the consumption of pork.  There is nothing in the religion about liking pork.  Liking or disliking pork or porcine products has nothing to do with faith.  We should separate the actual doctrines of religion from this backwards village “Islam”.  As a convert, there are quite a few pork dishes that I miss.  Thankfully, with the advances in genetics, we will have laboratory-grown bacon without the pig, and I look forward to that.
