Swalah al-Kifayah, The Prayer for Sufficient Protection

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The ritual prayer for sufficient protection, swalah al-kifayah, consists of two cycles, raka’atan, which may be performed at any time whatsoever.  In each, rak’ah, the worshipper must recite Surah al-Fatihah one time, Surah al-Ikhlasw ten times, and the following ayat fifty times:

سُوۡرَةُ البَقَرَة

... فَسَيَكۡفِيڪَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ (١٣٧)

Fasayakfiikahumu Allah, wa Huwa as-Samii'u al-‘Aliim.

… but Allah will Suffice thee as against them, and He is the All-Hearing the All-Knowing. (Surah al-Baqarah:137)

Then, having pronounced the salutation, he should offer the following du’a:

Ya Allah, Ya Rahmaan, Ya Mannaan, Ya Hannaan, Ya Musabbaahan bi kulli lisaan; Ya man yadahu bi al-khayri mabsuthataan; Ya Kaafiya Muhammadan (swalaa Allahu ‘alayhi wa salam) al-Ahzaab; wa Ya Kafiya Ibraahiima (‘alayhi as-salam) an-niiran, wa ya Kafiya Muusaa (‘alayhi as-salam) Fir’awn; wa ya Kafiyah ‘Iisaa (‘alayhi as-salam) al-jabaabirah; wa Ya Kafiyah Nuuhan (‘alayhi as-salam) al-gharaq; wa ya Kafiya Luuthan (‘alayhi as-salam) fuhsha qawmih; wa Ya Kafiyah min kulli shay’in wa laa yukfaa minhu shay’in; wa ya Kafiyah ‘Aayshata (radhi Allahu anhaa) wa Asiya’ (radhi Allahu anhaa) ikfinii ‘azhima al-balaa’i min kulli shay’in hatta laa akhaafa wa laa akhshaa ma’a asmika al-‘azhimii al-a’azhami shay’a.

O Allah! O All-Merciful One!  O Most Beneficent One!  O Most Compassionate One!  O You Who are Glorified in every tongue!  O You Whose Hand is Extended, Offering all that is good!  O Protector of Muhammad (s.a.w.) from the confederates!  O Protector of Abraham (a.s.) from the fires!  O Protector of Moses (a.s.) from Pharaoh!  O Protector of Jesus (a.s.) from the cruel tyrants!  O Protector of Noah (a.s.) from drowning!  O Protector of Lot (a.s.) from the lewdness of his people!  O Protector from everything, but from Whom nothing can be protected!  O Protector of Aishah (r.a.) and of Asiya’ (r.a.)!  Protect me from mighty affliction due to anything at all, so that, with Your Mighty Name ‘the Almighty,’ I may have nothing whatsoever to fear and dread.
