The Soul & the Heart

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 

Shaykh Shams ad-Din Muhammad at-Tabriz (q.s.) wrote, in his Diwan: 

“How long will you watch Us from a distance?

We offer help, and even love is helpless before us.

What is the soul?  The tiniest infant in our cradle.

What is the heart?  One of our wandering beggars.”
