The Radiant Dawn

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 

Shaykh ‘Umar ibn ‘Ali ibn al-Farid (q.s.) wrote: 

“Is it a flash of lightning that shone over the mottled mountain,

Or, do I see a lantern flickering in the hills of Najd?

Or is it Layla of the Banu Amir who unveiled her face at night,

And converted the evening dusk into radiant dawn?”
