The “Refined” Christian

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

When we become Muslims, we should not have to leave everything of ourselves behind.  We merely refine what we are.  Since Islam is the truth, then we are to be true to ourselves, and not pretend to be the “Muslims” others want us to be.  When I converted to Islam, I did not see it as me leaving Catholicism behind so much as me refining what I understood of the teachings of Jesus (a.s.) in the light of new Revelation, the Qur’an.  I am not so much former Christian as refined Christian.
