Rasul Dahri Still Taught Despite MUIS being Informed

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

“Ustadz” Rasul Dahri was the teacher of Mas Selamat and other Jemaah Islamiyah members.  As reported in the Malaysian Berita Harian, dated 27th December 2015, according to security sources, Mas Selamat Kastari, who was detained in Johor in 2009, not only held extremist views but admitted that he followed Rasul Dahri’s classes.  Mas Selamat himself admitted that he attended Rasul Dahri’s classes before getting involved in militancy.  Investigation outcomes with other extremist also show that they embraced and were influenced by Rasul Dahri’s views.

And yet, when we wrote to MUIS about Rasul Dahri continuing to teach in Singapore, they claimed they had no jurisdiction over him.  These are some of his classes, long after Mas Selamat was arrested.  MUIS cannot be relied upon to address issues of extremism and religious deviancy in Singapore.

On the 20th June 2017, the Singapore Government finally banned a list of 9 publications by this hate preacher, and made it a criminal offence to possess, let alone disseminate his works.  Despite this, he still has a large following in the Singapore Malay community.

The nine publications banned are, Setiap Bid’ah Menyesatkan, Hukum Mengenai Rokok & Mencukur Janggut, Salah Faham Dr. Harun Din Dalam Persoalan: Bid’ah & Percanggahannya, Siri 1: Bahaya Tariqat Sufi / Tasawuf Terhadap Masyarakat, Siri 2: Imam Syafie (Rahimahullah) Mengharamkan Kenduri Arwah, Tahlilan, Yasinan dan Selamatan, Siri 5: Kebatilan dan Kemungkaran Berzanji & Perayaan Maulid Nabi (Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa-Sallam), and Siri 7: Amalan-amalan Bid’ah Pada Bulan Sya’ban, published by Perniagaan Jahabersa, from Taman Kempas, Johor; and Tauhid Hakimiyah & Khawarij: Punca Demonstrasi, Pemberontakan, Pecah-belah dan Pengkafiran, and  Demokrasi, Pilihanraya & Mengundi: Satu Kajian Menurut Al-Quran & As-Sunnah, published by Syarikat Ummul Qura Enterprise, from Majidi Baru, Johor.
