Faith Must be Questioned to Grow

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

We all struggle with our faith, and we sometimes question this Existence of God.  But that is how faith grows.  It has to be questioned, pruned, nurtured and relieved of illusion so that the truth can be revealed.  God is not found is books, or people, or lectures or prayers, if we do not know what we are looking for.  God is found in the closeness of love and service.  We cannot find a God if we have not found ourselves and love ourselves for what we are, and what we can be.  It is good to spend some time to get to know ourselves, and appreciate what we have, and marvel at our gifts. We all have something that makes us special.  In that, we will find God.

Conversely, there are those who know themselves, and love themselves to the extent that they have forgotten they are Reflections of Something Real and Tremendous.  They have veiled themselves from God and made themselves god.  That is why Islam is the Middle Path.  If we do not appreciate who we are, we despair of the Divine, and if we love ourselves too much, we imagine ourselves divine.
