Cursing the Murderers of Sayyidina Husayn ibn ‘Ali (r.a.) While Drinking

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Mulla Husayn Wa’izh al-Kashifi as-Sabzawari (q.s.), the Naqshbandi shaykh, recorded in his Futuwwat Namah yi Sulthani, a Persian treatise on spiritual chivalry, that Imam Abu al-Hasan ‘Ali ibn Husayn Zayn al-‘Abidin (q.s.) used to curse the murderers of his father, Sayyidina Husayn ibn ‘Ali (r.a.) whenever he drank water.  When he was asked about it, he said, “My father asked me to remember his thirst and curse his murderers every time I drank.”
