The Prophet (s.a.w.) Predicted the Birth of Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Malik ibn Anas (r.a.)

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The Prophet (s.a.w.) said, “Very soon will people beat the flanks of camels in search of knowledge, and they shall find no-one more knowledgeable than the knowledgeable scholar of Madina.”  This is recorded in Sunan at-Tirmidzi as hasan swahih.  Imam Abu ‘Isa Muhammad ibn ‘Isa as-Sulami at-Tirmidzi (r.a.), Qadhi Abu al-Fadhl ‘Iyadh ibn ‘Amr (r.a.), Imam Shams ad-Din Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ahmad adz-Dzahabi (r.a.), and others related from Imam Abu Muhammad Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah (r.a.), Imam ‘Abd ar-Razzaq ibn Hammam asw-Swan’ani (r.a.), Imam ‘Abd ar-Rahman ibn Mahdi (r.a.), Imam Yahya ibn Ma’in (r.a.), Shaykh Dzu’ayb ibn ‘Imamah (r.a.), Imam Abu al-Hasan ʻAli ibn ʻAbdullah ibn al-Madini (r.a.), and others, that they considered that scholar to be Imam Abu ‘Abdullah Malik ibn Anas (r.a.).
