An Unchangeable God

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Dr. Colin Turner said, “The idea that God ‘likes’ and ‘dislikes’ things, or is ‘made happy’ or ‘made angry’ by things, or people, seems to be an extremely over-simplistic and misleading one.  If God is unchangeable, as He surely must be, then to move from a state of liking to a state of disliking, or from a state of happiness to a state of anger, does not make sense; in which case, we need to rethink how we talk about God’s Attributes in general, and about His ‘pleasure’ and ‘wrath’ in particular.”
