The Salutation of ‘Iyd al-Adhha

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The following is to be recited from maghrib, on the Day of ‘Iyd. 

تكبيرات العيد

الله أكبَرُ الله أكبَرُ الله أكبَرُ، لا إله إلا الله

الله أكبَرُ الله أكبَرُ الله أكبَرُ، ولله الحمد

(كرر عدّة مرات)

الله اكبرُ كبيرا، والحمدُ للهِ كثيرا

وسبحانَ اللهِ بُكرَةً وأصيلا

لا إله إلا اللهُ وحْده

صَدَقَ وعْده ونصَر عبْده

وأعَزَّ جُنْدَهُ وهَزمَ الأحزابَ وحده

لا إله إلا الله، ولا نعبُدُ إلا إيَّاه

مُخلصين لهُ الدِّين ولو كَرِهَ الكافرون

اللهمَّ صلِّ على سيِّدِنا مُحمَّد

وعلى أصحاب سيِّدِنا مُحمَّد

وعلى أنصار سيِّدِنا مُحمَّد

وعلى أزواج سيِّدِنا مُحمَّد

وعلى ذرّيةِ سيِّدِنا مُحمَّد

وسلّم تسليماً كثيرا

ربِّي اغفر لي ولوالدَيَّ ورحمْهُما كما ربَّياني صغيرَ 

Takbirat al-‘Iyd Transliteration

Allahu Akbar x3, La ilaha ilaa Allah

Allahu Akbar x3 wa lillah al-Hamd

Repeat 3 times or more

Allahu akbaru kabiraa, wa al-hamdulillah katsiraa

Wa subhaan Allahi bukratan wa aswiila

Laa ilaha ilaa Allah

Wahdah, swadaqa wa `adah

Wa naswara `abdah,

Wa a`azza jundah wa hazama al-ahzaaba wahdah

Laa ilaha ilaa Allah

Wa laa na`budu illaa iyyaah

Mukhliswiina lahu ad-diina wa law kariha al-kaafiroun

Allahumma swalli `alaa Sayyidinaa Muhammad

Wa `alaa aswhaabi Sayyidinaa Muhammad

Wa `alaa anwsaari Sayyidinaa Muhammad

Wa `alaz azwaaji Sayyidinaa Muhammad

Wa `alaa dzuriyyati Sayyidinaa Muhammad

Wa sallim tasliimaa katsiiraa

Rabbiighfirlii wa lii ad-diyya warhamhummaa kamaa rabbayaanii swaghiira 

The Calls of ‘Iyd al-Adhha

Allah is Greater (3 times), there is no god except Allah

Allah is Greater (3 times) and all praise Belongs to Allah

Allah is the Greatest and abundant praise is due to Allah

Glory to Allah in the morning and in the evening

There is no god except Allah

He Fulfilled His Promise and Granted victory to his slave

And Strengthened His soldiers

and Alone Defeated the Confederates

There is no god except Allah, alone

And we do not worship other than Him

Even though the unbelievers dislike it

O Allah Send Blessings upon our master Muhammad

And the household of our Master Muhammad

And the companions of our Master Muhammad

And the Helpers of our Master Muhammad

And the wives of our Master Muhammad

And the descendants of our Master Muhammad

And keep them abundantly safe

O Allah Forgive me and my parents, and have Mercy on them as they took care of me when I was a child

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ We consider this verse:   سُوۡرَةُ الطّلاَق ... وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُ ۥ مَخۡرَجً۬ا (٢) وَيَرۡزُقۡهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَحۡتَسِبُ‌ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسۡبُهُ ۥۤ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَـٰلِغُ أَمۡرِهِۦ‌ۚ قَدۡ جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ۬ قَدۡرً۬ا (٣)   … And for those who recognise Allah, He (Ever) Prepares a way out.   And He Provides for him from (sources) he never could imagine.   And if anyone puts his trust in Allah, sufficient is (Allah) for him.   For Allah Will surely Accomplish His Purpose: verily, for all things has Allah Appointed a due proportion. A Brief Biography of Shaykh Ibrahim ibn ‘Abdullah Niyas al-Kawlakhi (q.s.)

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ   The following was compiled from various sources from amongst the muridun of Shaykh Ibrahim ibn ‘Abdullah Niyas al-Kawlakhi ( q.s. ).   Shaykh Ibrahim Niyas ( q.s. ), as the name is transliterated here from the Arabic, is more commonly known “Ibrahim Niass”.   It also written as “Ibrahima Niasse” in French, and “Ibrayima Nas” in Wolof.   Formally, he is Shaykh al-Islam al-Haj Ibrahim ibn al-Haj ‘Abdullah at-Tijani al-Kawlakhi Niyas ( q.s. ) in Arabic.   He was a major leader of the Tijani Sufi order in West Africa.   His followers in the Senegambia region affectionately refer to him in Wolof as “ Baye ”, or “Father”.   He is the founder of the Ibrahimiyyah branch of the Tijaniyyah .   In Arabic, we designate ourselves as the people of al-Faydhah at-Tijaniyyah , “The Divine Flood of the Tijani”.   In Wolof, the Tijani of Senegal call themselves Talibe Baye , meaning “Disciples of Baye ”.   Outsiders often refer to his disciples as Naseen , w
