Secrets of Damascus

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The following is adapted from a swuhbah from Shaykh Muhammad Nazhim Adil al-Haqqani (q.s.) on the 09th November 2010.

There is a mountain, near Damascus, called Jabal al-Qasiyun, on which Shaykh Nazhim’s (q.s.) house is located.  Shaykh ‘Abdillah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghistani’s (q.s.) maqam and mosque are but a few metres from the house.  Shaykh Nazhim (q.s.) said that if he spoke of the virtues of Jabbal al-Qasiyun for 40 days, he would still be unable to finish describing it.  It is a glorious mountain, and light falls on it constantly.  On a dark night, one can see the mountain shining and glowing.

Shaykh ‘Abdillah ad-Daghistani (q.s.) had explained that Allah (s.w.t.) had Sent 124,000 Prophets.  The tombs of 1,000 of them are found around the world, but the holy bodies of the remaining 123,000 are inside that mountain.  Because of this, Mercy falls upon it continuously.  In the old days, the pious used to walk barefoot there as a sign of respect.  Shaykh Muhyi ad-Din Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Ali ibn ‘Arabi’s (q.s.) maqam is also there, and it is such a blessed maqam.

Shaykh ‘Abdillah ad-Daghistani (q.s.) has said that the terrible earthquakes of the Day of Resurrection, which will crush all mountains and toss them around like cotton, will not touch Jabal al-Qasiyun.  The Day of Judgement will take place in Sham, and this mountain will not be moved from its place.  Instead, a Manifestation will fall upon this mountain, and it will be moved to Paradise without being touched.

Whoever Allah (s.w.t.) Allows to own a house on that mountain or have his grave located there, will enter Paradise without being Questioned.  It is such a glorious mountain.  A Shaykh ‘Abdillah ad-Daghistani’s (q.s.) maqam is a small place.  When we enter, on the right, there is a fountain by the wall.  Light would appear from there.  Shaykha Aminah Adil (q.s.), the late wife of Shaykh Nazhim (q.s.) would often visit it because there is a prophet buried there.

Shaykh Nazhim (q.s.) said that all his children were born in Sham, and there is light on all their faces, and he prayed that Allah (s.w.t.) Make their lives long, with barakah.  Shaykh Nazhim (q.s.) said that he missed Sham dearly, but there is a wisdom in why he is not there, but in Cyprus instead.

This is the holy month of Dzu al-Hijjah.  New Manifestations have begun and Muharram will bring more clues as to what awaits the ummah.  We pray for Allah (s.w.t.) to strengthen our beliefs, and to fill our hearts with the love of the prophets and the saints, for whoever has no love for the prophets and the saints, their hearts are empty.

The Last Days will begin and end in Sham.  So many people will gather there at that time that, says Shaykh ibn ‘Arabi (q.s.), “If you drop this cup, it will fall on people and it will not touch the ground.”  When the Prophet (s.a.w.) was asked, “How will such a crowd be fed?” he replied, “With the takbir of al-Mahdi; to eat one drop of food, is as if you have eaten an entire lamb.”  Therefore, pray that our fate will not be cut off from Sham.
