Six Ayat ash-Shifa’

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ 

The following six ayat of the Qur’an are recited for healing, especially the healing of the soul.  Anyone may simply recite it, or follow the example of the swahabah and read it over water and give that water to someone to drink. 

سُوۡرَةُ التّوبَة

... وَيَشۡفِ صُدُورَ قَوۡمٍ۬ مُّؤۡمِنِينَ (١٤) 

… and Heal the breasts of believers. (Surah at-Tawbah:14) 

سُوۡرَةُ یُونس

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلنَّاسُ قَدۡ جَآءَتۡكُم مَّوۡعِظَةٌ۬ مِّن رَّبِّڪُمۡ وَشِفَآءٌ۬ لِّمَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ وَهُدً۬ى وَرَحۡمَةٌ۬ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ (٥٧) 

O mankind!  There has Come unto you an Exhortation from your Lord, a Balm for that which is in the breasts, a Guidance and a Mercy for believers. (Surah Yunus:57) 

سُوۡرَةُ النّحل

...‌ يَخۡرُجُ مِنۢ بُطُونِهَا شَرَابٌ۬ مُّخۡتَلِفٌ أَلۡوَٲنُهُ ۥ فِيهِ شِفَآءٌ۬ لِّلنَّاسِ‌ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٲلِكَ لَأَيَةً۬ لِّقَوۡمٍ۬ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ (٦٩) 

… there issues from within their bodies a drink of varying colours, wherein is healing for men: verily in this is a Sign for those who give thought. (Surah an-Nahl:69) 

سُوۡرَةُ بنیٓ اسرآئیل / الإسرَاء

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مَا هُوَ شِفَآءٌ۬ وَرَحۡمَةٌ۬ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ... (٨٢) 

We Send down (stage by stage) in the Qur’an that which is a Healing and a Mercy to those who believe: ... (Surah al-Isra’:82) 

سُوۡرَةُ الشُّعَرَاء

وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ (٨٠) 

“And when I am ill, it is He Who Cures me;” (Surah ash-Shu’ara:80) 

سُوۡرَةُ حٰمٓ السجدة / فُصّلَت

... قُلۡ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ هُدً۬ى وَشِفَآءٌ۬‌ۖ ... (٤٤) 

… Say: “It is a Guide and a Healing to those who believe …” (Surah Fuswswilat:44)
