Allah (s.w.t.) Dislikes the Ways of the Disbelievers

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The following is adapted from a swuhbah from Shaykh Muhammad Nazhim Adil al-Haqqani (q.s.) on the 28th December 2010.

Shaykh Nazhim (q.s.) reminded us to be thankful that we have been Created as humans.  Bani Adam is the Khalifah of Allah (s.w.t.).  We are thankful to Him when we obey Him and are pleased with His Decree.  We only attain high stations in the heavens if we are always thankful to Allah (s.w.t.) for His Gifts upon us, if we offer Him the highest respect in all that you do and keep our adab with our Lord.

We must constantly recite A’udzubillah and flee from Shaythan.  One who flees from Shaythan is actually fleeing towards Allah Almighty.  Shaythan is our greatest enemy.  His heart is envious of all our Gifts.  He takes pain from our joy and he takes joy from our pain.  His heart is devoid of even one drop of pity and mercy towards us.  So we must beware the wicked and relentless enemy and seek Divine Protection always.

A man pursued by attacker does not run to the ruler of a country directly.  He runs to the nearest place where he can be helped; police station or a security post.  Similarly, one who is hounded by Shaythan can seek help from one of the representatives of the Lord.  Even the lowest-ranking angel is able to chase away any numbers of devils afflicting us.  We may seek help from any of the authorised representatives of the Divine.  They are those that have been Imbued with the power to protect us.  It is enough for us if even one such authority helps you.  They are potent even were we to be besieged by millions of devils.  It is a Command of Allah (s.w.t.) for us to seek His Protection from Shaythan the accursed.  It is impossible for one to escape from Shaythan’s snares without Divine Help.  We must never feel that our knowledge, actions or heavenly station is sufficient as a fortress against Shaythan’s treachery.  He who seeks Divine Shelter will be Given Shelter.

The Basmallah is a Divine sword.  Allah (s.w.t.) Gave it to us to use it against Shaythan, so we should use it at the beginning of every action.  This weapon can defeat countless devils for those who so have faith, and use it.  The vast majority of humanity has lost faith in spirituality.  They do not recite a’udzubillah or the Basmallah.  They do not believe in the spiritual prowess of these recitations.  They have faith in their intellect, in what they can see, especially their material wealth.  They do not depend on Allah (s.w.t.).  Their efforts are meaningless.  They are failures and they cannot improve spiritually.  There is a special power in the Basmallah.  Contained in it are the three Names of Allah (s.w.t.).  Once recited, an unseen power to defend ourselves is Granted.

If humanity can be saved by virtue of knowledge alone, how do we fall into economic and spiritual crisis, with thousands of economists, social scientists, doctors, bankers, politicians putting their heads together without being able to prevent its occurrence or to provide a way out?  Allah (s.w.t.) simply Pulled the plug on their sustenance, rizqi.  Just as, if the water mains to a village were to burst, no water would reach the individual homes in the area.  No matter what the homeowners did to the pipes in their homes, no water would reach them until the main pipe had been repaired.  Allah (s.w.t.) is the Controller of the main pipe of this world’s sustenance.  We cannot depend on ourselves or our knowledge.  We must depend on Allah (s.w.t.).  Shaykh Nazhim (q.s.) cautioned us not to claim to be knowledgeable since there is much that we do not know.

Many scholars, despite studying the Qur’an and ahadits extensively, fail to understand the knowledge contained within them, as they are not endowed with hikmah.  The solution to every crisis, lies in the ayat:

سُوۡرَةُ الطّلاَق

... وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُ ۥ مَخۡرَجً۬ا (٢)

… And for those who fear Allah, He (ever) Prepares a way out (Surah ath-Thalaq:2)

The crisis of the Islamic world is that they have left the ways of the Prophet (s.a.w.) and follow the ways of the disbelievers.  Entire Muslim nations have left the sunnah.  They are terrified of being labeled backward and are seek to be modern, free and Westernised.  Not one Muslim country has stepped forward to revive the sunnah.  This has brought them to ruin.  Those who adopt the ways of disbelievers are cursed.  Just as Allah (s.w.t.) Loves all of Rasulullah’s (s.a.w.) acts, Allah (s.w.t.) dislikes the ways of the disbelievers.  If we adopt the ways of the mushrikun, the ummah is in trouble.
