Something about the Attributes

It is Written, in the Qur’an:

For these, there is hope that Allah will Forgive: for Allah Does Blot out (sins) and Forgive again and again. (Surah an-Nisa’:99)

A woman, in despair at Allah's (s.w.t.) Mercy, went to the beach to drown herself in the sea.  She thought that Allah (s.w.t.) could never accept her for her sins.  And then she heard a voice.  “Look at the sand.  Just as the waves wash away your footprints, so do I Wash away your sins.”  And that is the Attribute of al-‘Afuw, the Effacer of Sins.  Allah (s.w.t.) is not merely the Forgiver; He Effaces sins such that it never happened.

Once, Moses (a.s.) prayed to Allah (s.w.t.), “My Lord, Pharaoh has terrorised your people and oppressed them to a great degree.  Why have you not chastised him?”

And Allah (s.w.t.) Replied, “Even in him, there is some good.  He is kind to his family, is faithful to his wife and generous by nature.  Speak to him kindly that he will change.”  And that is the Attribute of ar-Rahman, the Most Merciful.  And Allah (s.w.t.) in His Mercy will give all the chances we need to repent. And He Send Signs, and guides and reminders until the time our soul is torn from your body.

Unknown to Moses (a.s.), Pharaoh himself also prayed to Allah (s.w.t.).  He prayed, “My Lord, do not Disgrace me before my people.”

Gabriel (a.s.) appeared to him and gave him a choice between a brazier and a bucket of water.  Pharaoh did not know the significance, but he chose the bucket of water.  Thus, his fate was sealed.  And that is the Attribute of al-Mujib, the Answerer of Supplications.

… “It is He Who has Produced you from the Earth, and Settled you therein: then ask Forgiveness of Him, and turn to Him (in repentance): for my Lord is (always) Near, Ready to Answer.” (Surah Hud:61)

  2. Wa'Alaikumus Salaam,

No problem. That is what I do. Merely for His Pleasure. I ask nothing in return.

    Just remember to try it.
