The scholars of that time considere...Wa as-Salaam,<br /><br />The scholars of that time considered Imam Ja'far asw-Swadiq amongst the most learned. So did Imam Malik (r.a.), who was his student. The reason he spent such a short time was likely because the teacher passed on. The Ja'afari madzhab which is considered Shi'a still exists today. It evolved from the teachings of Imam Ja'far asw-Swadiq.
