Quora Answer: If God Created Time, is It Impossible to Know What God Did before That?

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The following is my answer to a Quora question: “If God Created time, is it impossible to know what God Did before?

Time is the interval between moments.  This means there has to be movement of particles, their displacement from one place to another.  That period between their displacements is what we experience as time.  Therefore, for time to exist, there has to be Creation.  God is Absolute.  An Absolute God experiences no displacement since there is no place God is not, and has to be.  As such, whether with or without Creation, God does not experience time since God Exists outside of time, just as He Exists beyond Creation.  If there were no Creation, there would be no time, and since we cannot conceive of the Absolute, we cannot fathom what God “did” before there was a “before”, since it does not exist.
