Quora Answer: Can You be Muslim without Believing in Allah (s.w.t.)?

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The following is my answer to a Quora question: “Can you be a Muslim without believing in Allah (s.w.t.)?

Islam begins with the testification of faith: “I testify that there is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the final prophet.”  Without this, you are not a Muslim, and there is no Islam.  In that light, you are not a Muslim if you do not believe in God; you are an atheist.
