Hearts are Fragile

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Hearts are more fragile than glass.  If we break a glass, we will find a plethora of replacements.  However, when you break someone’s heart, there is no replacement for it.  As Mawlana Jalal ad-Din Muhammad ar-Rumi (q.s.) said, the heart is more precious than the Ka’bah; it is the seat of the Divine.

If someone gives their heart to us, we must guard it and cherish it like it is the world’s greatest treasure, because it is.  For the owner of that heart, it is their everything.  It is the greatest trust that Allah (s.w.t.) Honours us with, to hold the heart of another in our hands.  And if we deliberately break that heart, we will answer before Him on the Day of Judgement.  So if we fulfil our trusts and promises with the hearts, Allah (s.w.t.) will Fulfill His Covenant to Cherish us.  And if we are gentle with the hearts in our trust, Allah (s.w.t.) will be Gentle with us on the Day where His Mercy is our greatest hope.
