The Precondition of Good Deeds

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Qadhi Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah ibn al-‘Arabi (r.a.) said, “There is no good deed which does not have dzikr as a precondition for its validity, and whoever does not remember Allah (s.w.t.) in his heart at the time of his swadaqah or fasting, for example, then his deed is incomplete: therefore, dzikr is the best of deeds because of this.”
