The Kansas Bank Robber

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

According to court documents, on the 02nd September, Lawrence John Ripple, aged 70, walked into a Kansas City bank, handed a teller a note saying he had a gun and demanded money.

The Washington Post reported that Ripple took the $2,924 he was given, and sat down in the bank lobby.  He even told a security guard he was the guy the police were looking for, and he was not there for the money.

Ripple and his wife recently had an argument.  He wrote his demand note in front of her and said, “he would rather be in jail than at home.”  The bank he robbed was down the road from a police station.

As punishment, the judge released him into his wife’s custody.
