God Does Not Hate

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Dr. Colin Turner correctly said, “God does not ‘hate’ anything.  But if we turn away from God, it is like turning away from the Sun, and facing darkness.  Darkness represents non-existence - the non-existence of love, wisdom, goodness, beauty, and so on - and non-existence is ‘hateful’.  It is ‘hateful’ because it treats us as though we are hated.  And because we turn to non-existence from our own free-will, it is as though we are choosing to hate ourselves.  Thus, God is sometimes described as ‘hating’, when in fact this is merely an indication that it is only through His Power that we are able to do wrong.  In reality, God does not ‘hate’ anything.  It is we who hate, and it is we who sometimes hate ourselves through wrongdoing.”
