“Are you Muslim?”

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

One of the most irritating things that Muslims say when you disagree with them is, “Are you Muslim?”  Are they implying that they are such authorities on the religion that to disagree with them means one has left Islam?  Alternatively, they would ask, “Are you Sunni?” or “Are you Shi’ah?”  Again, this is another stupid question.  This will only come from ignorant people who do not now ‘aqidah.  Any person who is knowledgeable in Islam can immediately tell from an extended discussion other persons’ influences in terms of sect, madzhab or thariqa’; or that said person is merely ignorant.  And if these are the questions someone has, then it is obvious that they are ignorant, and a waste of time.
