بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Shaykh Taj ad-Din Abu al-Fadhl Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Atha’illah as-Sakandari (q.s.) said, “Know that when you take pride in a powerful person, this does not mean that you share in this person’s power or high rank.  The friends of Allah (s.w.t.) take pride in the prophets whose guidance they have followed, and whose path they have embraced; however, they do not, for this reason, share in their power and standing.”
