Asking for Dunya or Akhirah

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

It is better to ask Allah (s.w.t.) for dunya with sincerity, than akhirah with hypocrisy.  The man who sincerely seeks will always find something better, until he arrives at the Divine Presence.  The hypocrite will eventually pretend to arrive, but has not yet stepped out of the gate onto the path of spiritual journeying.  He is not only a danger to himself, but a danger to others, for he might lead other seekers astray.

As such, the condition of faith is neither knowledge, nor affiliation, but sincerity.  Without sincerity, there is no piety, only the pretence of it.  People have become enamoured with this pretence, claiming nothingness, when in that claim, there is aggrandisation.
