Muslim & Jew in Sarajevo, 1941

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

In this photograph, taken in Sarajevo, 1941, a Muslim lady covers the yellow Star of David of her Jewish neighbour.  The Nazi occupiers forced the Jews to wear these stars.  For centuries, the Muslim and Jewish communities lived in peace.  Contrary to what some would have us believe, until the rise of the Zionist State, there were never problems between Muslims and Jews.  In fact, many Muslims protected the Jews, from the time of the Inquisition and even during the Holocaust.
