Shaykh ibn Abi al-Qasim al-Qandusi (q.s.) on the One Most Distant from Allah (s.w.t.)

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abi al-Qasim al-Qandusi (q.s.) wrote, in at-Ta’sis fi Masawi ad-Dunya wa Nahawi Iblis, “Scholars say that the most distant of people from Allah (s.w.t.) is the one who abandons the prescribed prayers, but I say that the most distant of people from Allah Most High is the one who wrongs others.  The one who abandons the prescribed prayer is closer to Allah than those who oppress and transgress against others!”
