The Terrible Things We Do When We Lose a Friend

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

A gnostic once said, “I once had a friend whom I loved dearly, and who loved me in the same way.  Then someone else came along and, after a while, caught my friend’s attention.  From that point onwards, I did everything in my power to make this newcomer hate my friend, and to turn my friend against this newcomer; so desperately did I want my friend all to myself.  Love makes you do such terrible things.  And it is because of this experience that I can understand why Iblis did what he did.”
