Why We have Food & Drink at the Mawlid

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Imam Fakhr ad-Din Abu ‘Abdullah Muhammad ibn ‘Umar ar-Razi (r.a.) said, “There is not a person who recites the Mawlid of the Prophet (s.a.w.) upon salt or wheat or any type of food only that Allah (s.w.t.) will Manifest the Blessing in everything that is connected to that food.  And will not suffer, nor will the food settle in the stomach except that Allah will Forgive the one eating it.  And if the Mawlid of the Prophet (s.a.w.) is recited upon water, then the one who drinks that water, a thousand lights and blessings will enter into their heart, and a thousand ailments and vices will be removed from them, and the heart of such a person will not die on a day when hearts will perish.”
