Knowledge & the Intellect

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Imam Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Ghazali (r.a.) wrote, in his Ihya’ ‘Ulum ad-Din, “The noble nature of ‘ilm has been Revealed through the intellect.   The intellect is the source and foundation head of ‘ilm and its foundation.  Knowledge is the like the fruit of a tree and it flows from intellect, or like the light of the Sun to the vision of the eye.”
