Allah (s.w.t.) Wants Us to Be Beautiful

بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

The following is adapted from a swuhbah from Shaykh Muhammad Nazhim Adil al-Haqqani (q.s.), on the 22nd February 2012.

Our Lord Loves the beautiful.  He Himself is Beautiful; Absolute Beauty Belongs to Him.  We must be beautiful and run to beauty as this is what our Lord Wants.  Who are the ugly?  They are the ones who do bad things, who run away from good things and, therefore, darkness covers their faces.  An ugly person is not acceptable and Allah (s.w.t.) does not love them; He Loves the beautiful.

What makes a person beautiful?  It is not powder or makeup.  The beautiful are the clean, pure servants who walk on the path Allah (s.w.t.) Ordered.  The ones whom Allah (s.w.t.) Loves and to whom Allah (s.w.t.) Gives beauty are Dressed in a new beauty in every hour.  Each rebellious act towards Allah (s.w.t.) or the following of one’s ego makes a person ugly.  Neither powder, makeup or anything can help it and make one look beautiful again.  Beauty is from Allah (s.w.t.).

We must be beautiful and not be ugly; be just, and not oppress; be good, and not bad.  This is what Allah (s.w.t.) Wants, and He Says to us to be beautiful.  This is all it says in the Bible, the Torah and the Holy Qur'an.  Therefore, our Prophet (s.a.w.) said, “Tafakkarru sa’atin khayrun min ‘ibadati saba’in sannah,” “To remember Allah (s.w.t.) for one hour is better than seventy years of worship.”
