Divine Wrath is Precise
بِسۡمِ ٱللهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
The following is adapted from a swuhbah from Shaykh Muhammad Nazhim Adil al-Haqqani (q.s.) on the 16th April 2010.
We have a limited physical capacity. We can only swim so far. We can only lift so much. We can only speak so loud. With technology, we have accomplished previously impossible feats. It is no wonder that we depend on material support. But we are still creatures of limited physical capacity. Only now, this limitation has been masked and overcome by technology. Many have come to believe that technology, instead of Divine Help, can solve any problem that they face.
Recently, in Iceland, a sleeping volcano stirred to life causing widespread mayhem worldwide. A single volcano. Who Brought that volcano back to life? If the volcano does blow its cone, is there any technology that can stop it? When we are faced with all this uncertainty and helplessness, when we see material support fail him completely; only then do we come running back to spiritual support and start praying for help. At one time, Atlantis, too, existed. Where is it today? A single Divine Command Caused it to disappear from the face of this earth. Can we save ourselves or prevent Divine Anger from destroying us with all our technology?
He Who Awakened the sleeping giant in Iceland, can Awaken any of the thousands of dormant volcanoes across the globe in the blink of an eye:
Verily, when He Intends a thing, His Command is "Be" and it is! (Surah YaSin:82)
When the volcanoes of the world are Awakened by the Lord Almighty, they say in devoted obedience that they are ready to fulfill His Command. Every mountain is aware of what happened on that fateful day, when Allah's (s.w.t.) Wrath was Ignited and He Sent down a hail of brimstone and fire on the ummah of Lot (a.s.). The people of Sodom and Gomorrah were practicing abominations that had never been done by any other ummah before them. They were people who had crossed all limits.
"And leave those whom Allah has Created for you to be your mates? Nay, ye are a people transgressing (all limits)!" (Surah ash-Shu’ara:166)
Each activated volcano awaits Allah's (s.w.t.) Command to destroy such transgressors. People of these End Times, especially those from the West, are indeed mirroring the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. Like them, they are doing sins that have never been done before. The people of Sodom and Gomorrah practised homosexuality and that had brought a great punishment upon them. Today, people have gone far beyond that - the people of today are indulging in lesbianism, bestiality, necrophilia, paedophilia, rape, incest, fetishes and exhibitionism - they have also crossed all limits without shame or fear for their lust has made them drunk.
The inhabitants of the City came in (mad) joy (at news of the young men). (Surah al-Hijr:67)
We must stop following the ways of the West for that will rouse Divine Anger against us. We must return to the way of the Prophet (s.a.w.) and abandon the Western ways for their ways are not for us. Theirs are the ways of the unguided, the ways of those who follow their lusts. We must abandon the promiscuous lifestyle of Sodom and Gomorrah for such a lifestyle is the biggest reason for Divine Anger. The Western lifestyle is very inviting and appealing for it has no rules or boundaries but that is a very dangerous lifestyle as it also invites Divine Wrath.
We often view Allah's (s.w.t.) Punishment as something violent - a 'natural disaster'. But Allah (s.w.t.) can send His Punishment in the most subtle of ways too. Allah (s.w.t.) Sends forgetfulness as a punishment too. A man can be driving a car and suddenly Allah (s.w.t.) may Lift that knowledge of how to drive from him. When Allah (s.w.t.) Sends Divine Punishment, it is not a random process, as if we happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. It is precise. Each person who is to receive punishment will receive it, for it is the angels that bring down these Divine Punishments and they can see which faces of the Children of Adam have Light and who will be spared and saved, and which faces have darkness from Jahannam and who will be punished.
We must lift our hands in prayer to Allah (s.w.t.); ask for Him to Send us a Guide who will lead us to His Pleasure. We must strive with all our might to make Allah (s.w.t.) Pleased with us for when He is Pleased, we are safe from His Wrath. We must be amongst those who make prostration, sajdah, for the faces of those who do not perform swalah will be filled with darkness from Hell. They will never escape His Punishment.
